SSS Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes

Well, all good things must come to an end, so it's a bitter-sweet week for me as today is the last week for me guest designing over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog. It was such a fun experience and I hope I get the chance to do something like this again!

 

 

The challenge this week is "Anything Goes.' We are featuring lil' inkers and Clearly Besotted this week, you don't have to use them to play along, although we would love to see them!

For my card, I started off by paper piecing the turtle. Paper piecing is one of my favourite techniques since I don't have a lot of things to colour with! 

Once I was done that, I inked around the edges with distress ink and then I adhered it to the a 3 1/2 by 4 3/4 piece of white cardstock.

To finish it off, I stamped the seaweed at the bottom along with a sentiment and then glued on some sequins! 

I love the little turtle, he is so stinkin adorable! I'm really liking lil' inkers products, I'm going to have to get some more! Their stamp sets are so unique and cute! Just my style. :)

SSS Wednesday Challenge: Have a Heart

Hello, hello. :)

This weeks Challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog is "Have a Heart" This challenge is pretty wide open with endless possibilities! We are featuring Glitter Ritz and Wink of Stella, but you don't have to use them to play along, although we would love to see them!

For my card I kept it really simple. I used a piece of pattern paper for the main panel. I die cut a few hearts from regular white cardstock and adhesive paper. I covered the adhesive paper with champagne glitter and the white hearts in clear wink of stella,

I gold embossed my sentiment and layered the hearts on, popping some up,

To finish, I adhered it to a neenah desert storm card base. 

The wink of stella is so hard to capture on camera, you really need to see it in real life to get the full effect. I love how this one turned out, that glitter is perfection! So pretty!

SSS Wednesday Challenge: Guy Thing

Hello all!

 

This week the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog is "Guy Thing." We are featuring Tim Holtz  products this week, you don't have to use them to join in, but we would love to see them! The best thing about Tim Holtz is the endless possibilities with his products. From his beloved distress inks, paints, stains and sprays, The Stampers Anonymous Collection or his fabulous ideology line, you can do just about anything!

So for this weeks card, I started off 'smooshing' various colours of distress inks onto my craft mat. I spritzed it with water and then swiped a piece of distress water colour cardstock through it. I repeatedly dried it and pounced it back in the remaining colour till I was happy with it! 

Next I Stamped the circle image and then masked it off with just a post-it. Then I stamped the vertical image over top. When I took off the post-it it looked like it was behind.  Then I stamped the gas station image with a grey archival ink. I stamped the route sign on a separate piece of paper and cut it out and inked around the edges. 

To finish it off I distressed around parts of the edges and inked around the whole panel with distress ink. I added my sentiment and added it to a A2 sized card.

SSS Wednesday Challenge: Something New

Lets just start this post by saying, 

1. Sorry I have completely neglected my blog for waay too long. 

2. I really don't have a reason or an excuse, mostly just completely unmotivated to right up a post.

3.This is an exciting post, because wait for it...

 I am, for the month of January, the guest designer for the SSS Wednesday challenge blog. And if that isn't exciting, I really don't know what is.

This weeks challenge was 'Something New' and to use SSS exclusive products. So I created a New Years Card. Now technically New Years has come and gone, but I also celebrate Ukrainian New Years which is on January 14th. But regardless, it still fits the challenge haha.

ps. If someone can please tell me why InLinkz says 'the item cannot be found' for basically everything, that would be swell. hahaha.

To start, I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Luminary Circle Die from white cardstock. (I used Recollections 110lb cardstock for this and my cardbase) I stamped and embossed the greetings with silver embossing powder. Then I took a scrap piece of white cardstock and coated it with modpodge and then added some iridescent glittter. I layered the die cut piece on top so the glitter peaks through. I adhered the pannel onto an A2 cardbase. to finish it off I added a few clear gems.

It's a very easy to make card with a striking outcome.

When I think New Years, I think glitter and sparkle. And I think this card covers it perfectly
